Due to some logistical issues and a move, I haven’t had much time to whip up my own concoctions, forcing me to wander NOVA aimlessly lurching from one cocktail bar to another. Sad days 🙂 But newly unpacked and with a few guests over, I shook the dust off and got back at it. I’ve been getting more and more into bourbon especially Elijah Craig, so I worked on making a lighter bourbon summer sipper. With fresh lemon juice and homemade simple syrup, I made a Bourbon Triple Sour:
This was a great, simple drink — a perfect balance of that oaky, bourbon taste and a sweeter, citrusy cut. It really was a sublime outdoor drink — sip one at 85 degrees like I did yesterday and you’ll taste what I mean. My guests, including a bourbon skeptic, also enjoyed it, so I’ll definitely be adding this to the regular repertoire.
