My search for the perfect blueberry cocktail continued last night when I stumbled upon a recipe for blueberry honey vodka lemonade. That really is a mouthful, it needs a hipper and shorter name, like Blue Russian or something. I also with with it because I have a tupperware container full of blueberry syrup burning a hole in my fridge, so I’m looking for any ay to get rid of it. And by get rid of it, I mean pour it down my gullet.
- 4 Tablespoons Blueberry Honey Simple Syrup
- 4 Tablespoons fresh Lemon Jucie
- 4 ounces cold Vodka
I’d love to make blueberry honey syrup which just sounds delicious. I took a shortcut however and simply poured in a half ounce of honey into the mix. I know it doesn’t gel that well but I figured it would lend a tinge of that bright honey flavor.
That just looks beautiful. It tasted great, a bit like an alcoholic cranberry or pomegranate juice, which was a good thing. There was a honey hint in the background but I wish it would have popped a bit more — good motivator to make the syrup next time. I took this outside on a warm evening and had a helluva time, sipping it and watching the sun go down. A great summertime relaxer, I could see making these in bulk for a nice picnic or social gathering.
